Hundreds plan to storm Volks in Brighton and drink Red Stripe beer

Volks nightclub

HUNDREDS of people have said they are going to storm a nightclub and drink all of its Red Stripe beer.

The August 16 event could see more than 1,500 people invade Volks Nightclub on Brighton Seafront and drink all its popular Jamaican lager. Event organisers say “they can’t stop all of us”. The thirsty raiders are planning to meet at the Volks Railway tourist attraction, opposite the nightclub, at 11am. From there, they will coordinate their entry. The raid is planned to last 20 hours – leaving attendees enough time to drink the place dry. The event, hosted by Brightonian Peter Piper Maxted and posted on Facebook, is called “Storm Volks and Drink The Red Stripe, They Can’t Stop All of Us”. In a message to attendees, the organiser said: “We will all meet up at the Volks Railway tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. “If we Naruto run, we can move faster than the bouncers. “Lets see them Red Stripes.” A “Naruto run” is a form of running whereby the runner’s arms are attending behind their back. One attendee said: “Hopefully someone finds my soul, I left it in there about 15 years ago. “Oh, and about 300 hoodies.” Another said: “Now this is something I can certainly get behind.” However, one staff member has expressed concerns about the event’s feasibility, stating “I reckon our security will have ya”. The nightclub has since responded to the event. A spokesman said: “Whilst we do have the personnel to fend off a few thousand Naruto running drunks, Volks would much rather reward those willing to stand together and fight for something in the face of adversity, like Apocalyptic weather and an apocalyptic prime minister. “Therefore, we will be offering the first 50 well behaved attendees a free Red Stripe for our night-time event on August 16, starting at 11pm. “See you soon.” The event is a spin off of a – presumed satirical – Facebook event vowing to storm Area 51 in a bid to see aliens. More than 1.2 million people worldwide have signed up for the event in September. The American Air Force desert military base has been the focus of alien conspiracy theories for decades. The event went viral online, forcing the US Air Force to respond. A spokeswoman said: “[Area 51] is an open training range for the US Air Force, and we would discourage anyone from trying to come into the area where we train American armed forces. The US Air Force always stands ready to protect America and its assets.”
