Portmore United and Waterhouse set up repeat RSPL final

The Portmore United and Waterhouse coaching units have pointed to proper game management as the key to overcoming Mount Pleasant Academy and Cavalier respectively in their second leg Red Stripe Premier League semi-final matches on Monday night. The results meant Portmore and Waterhouse set up a repeat of last season’s final.

Portmore United and Mount Pleasant Academy played to a 1-1 scoreline after regulation time in their 2nd leg semi-final match and this was enough to see Portmore advance 3-2 on aggregate. Javon East gave Portmore a 22nd minute lead and Mount Pleasant left it late before finding an eventual equaliser through Sulae McCalla in time added in what was the 2nd match of the double header at the National Stadium.

Earlier, Waterhouse booked their place in the final after defeating Cavalier 1-0 in their second leg semi-final for 3-0 aggregate scoreline. Keammar “Dada” Daley scored for Waterhouse a minute after the halftime break to send them into their second straight final. The final will be contested on Monday, April 29 at the National Stadium.
